The Health Evaluation Assessment and Learning (HEAL) lab uses innovative mixed methods methodologies, both in the laboratory and in “real time” to assess factors related to tobacco use and correlated health-risk behaviors (like alcohol and cannabis). The goal of our work is to inform tobacco regulations and prevention efforts aimed at deterring the initiation, uptake, and progression of problematic substance use. Our work focuses primarily on high-risk populations who are negatively impacted by tobacco-related disease and health consequences.
